In summer, the average daytime temperatures at Lipno range between 20 and 26 °C, while the nights can be cooler, around 10 to 15 °C, due to the higher altitude (725 meters above sea level) and the proximity of the Šumava Mountains. The weather is quite variable – alongside sunny and warm days, occasional showers or thunderstorms can occur, typical for mountainous and foothill regions. The air is usually clean, and the water in the reservoir is suitable for swimming during the summer months, although it can be cooler than in lowland areas.

Due to the variable weather at Lipno, we recommend packing gear for both warm and cooler days. Swimsuits, sunscreen, and light clothing are definitely useful for sunny days by the water. At the same time, don’t forget warmer layers—evenings can be chilly, so it’s a good idea to bring a sturdy jacket and even a beanie, especially if you plan to sleep in a tent. Waterproof shoes and a raincoat are also good additions in case of rain..
